Hola!
My teachers Baquita & Kyeom told me: "An artist is not because of what they do, but by what they perceive." I strive to learn & share (art lives by engagement). As a multidisciplinary artist, I wish to serve the concept. This idea usually relates to Mexicanhood, life’s layered complexity & relationships.
My inspiration is a cultural stew taking after many artists like Michelangelo, the Mexican Artesanos, Orozco, Ayala, Aaron Blaise & Jorge Marín.
I was born in Mexico City & lived there most of my life. I then came to New York to study. In 2021, the Society of Fellows awarded me for my watercolor piece, The Defeated. Today, I am an Artist in Residence at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, where I work to develop puppet performances & workshops.
